Description

Tignanello is produced exclusively from the grapes of the vineyard of the same name, located at Tenuta Tignanello. Tignanello was the first Sangiovese aged in barriques, the first modern red wine blended with non-traditional grape varieties such as Cabernet and one of the first red wines of Chianti without the use of white varieties. Originally named "Chianti Classico Riserva vigneto Tignanello", it was first produced from a single vineyard with the 1970 vintage.
