Chateau Rauzan-Segla

Segla 2018

The Ségla is a very successful second wine with a beautiful aromatic complexity and a pleasant depth. Juicy and racy, this drop beautifully expresses the radiant personality of the vintage, with an aromatic expression on black fruits such as blackberries and blueberries. In the mouth, it is medium-bodied with a juicy attack and spicy notes that gently tickle the taste buds. The finish is long and brings an exceptional tension. Great!

Description

The estate is located in the commune of Margaux in the Médoc. In the Bordeaux classification of 1855, it received the second rank (Deuxième Cru Classé). In 1661, the merchant Pierre des Mesures de Rausan (Rauzan) bought a large estate from the de Gassies family. This subsequently gave rise to the Château Desmirail, Château Marquis-de-Terme and Château Rauzan estates. In 1792, at the time of the French Revolution, Château Rauzan was divided into the two wine estates Château Rauzan-Gassies and Château Rauzan-Ségla. The name came from the new owner Madame Ségla, a descendant of the founder. The estate remained in the hands of the family until 1866. In 1994 it was transferred to the capital company Château Rauzan-Ségla S.A. (a subsidiary of the perfume group Chanel), director is John Kolasa.
