Predominantly Pinot Noir imparts structure and robustness, while Chardonnay adds elegance, finesse, and subtlety. Made exclusively from grapes sourced from Grands Crus Pinot Noir and Chardonnay vineyards planted during Churchill's lifetime, Cuvée Sir Winston Churchill is a rarity produced only in the finest vintages, released later to honor Churchill's appreciation for older wines.
Nose: Opens with spicy and peppery notes, followed by intense black fruit, showcasing the wine's fine concentration and density. A complex bouquet of dried fruit and hazelnut is enhanced by exotic fruit nuances, creating an impressively open aroma.
Palate: Candied fruit intertwines with pastry, brioche, and cocoa hints, delivering a broad and mouth-filling experience. The significant Pinot Noir content imparts the expected roundness and gravitas to this cuvée. Despite its relative youth, the wine exhibits smoky weight, good grip, and a long, rich acidity.
