PÖCKL
The Merlot from René Pöckl Winery in Burgenland impresses with its robust and full-bodied character. Grown on clay and gravel soils near Lake Neusiedl, this red wine is aged in barriques. It exudes aromas of cherries, dark berries, and a touch of liquorice, while delivering a powerful and fruity palate. The finish is pleasant and long-lasting.
René Pöckl's Merlot undergoes an 18-month maturation in barriques, resulting in a concentrated and potent expression of the varietal. With its almost black color, it captivates with an intensely spicy nose. Dark, concentrated fruit notes of plums, blueberries, and blackberries intertwine with hints of pepper, olive, dried herbs, and graphite. The wine exhibits robust yet ripe tannins, a full body, and an impressively long finish. It is crafted for extended aging and cellar storage.

Red wine is the passion of René and Eva Pöckl and their goal is to keep improving the quality.
