Eau de Vie de Vin Prunes

CHÂTEAU MOUTON ROTHSCHILD

Eau de Vie de Vin Prunes

Château Mouton Rothschild cultivates not only grapes but also a variety of plums. These carefully harvested plums, including Mirabelle and Reineclaude, are distilled and aged for about 15 years to create an intensely fruity Eau de Vie de Prunes. This rare and exquisite brandy is a delightful surprise for Bordeaux lovers.

In addition to their renowned Bordeaux wines, Château Mouton Rothschild crafts limited quantities of refined distillates. The Eau-de-Vie de Vin Prune de Mouton Rothschild, presented in individually numbered bottles, showcases the estate's commitment to excellence.

Description

Baron Philippe planted an orchard called Les Pruniers, featuring five plum varieties essential for making plum brandy. The trees, with an average age of 37 years, express the essence of each plum variety, resulting in an elegant and concentrated spirit. After careful distillation and aging for approximately 15 years, partly in oak barrels, the Eau-de-Vie de Vin Prune embodies the tradition and character of Château Mouton Rothschild. Crafted with the same care as their renowned wines, this artisanal spirit undergoes double-distillation to highlight its finest aromas and flavors. The spirits from different years are skillfully blended to create a unique and distinctive character specific to Mouton Rothschild.

Nose: elegant and complex, revealing aromas of ripe fruit and delicate floral scents.
Tongue: after a dense and very soft attack, it opens with noble flavours of white peach and sweet almonds, leading to a juicy and harmonious finish.
