In Riesling, tropical fruits such as mango, passion fruit, pineapple, and, of course, fully ripe peach dominate, with a clear-toned minerality as a gift from the barren weathered soils. After a few years of aging, one has the feeling that the sensory boundaries between Grüner Veltliner and Riesling are becoming blurred and that the terroir of this exceptional site is increasingly asserting itself.
Situated in a steep terraced formation of ancient rock, perfectly facing southeast and located at the exit of a side valley, this vineyard creates a special microclimate. Bathed in morning sun and shaded from early afternoon, the grape ripening process slows down. During the night, cool air from the nearby forest imparts a complex texture, finely nuanced minerality, and exotic aromatics. The Kellerberg, named after the baroque Kellerschlössl by Jakob Prandtauer, is composed of Gföhler Gneiss, a transformative rock with a distinctive character. Experience wines that reflect the wealth of this extraordinary terroir.
