Tignanello 2013

It was the first Sangiovese to be refined in barrique, the first modern red wine to be composed of non-traditional grape varieties (including Cabernet), and one of the first red wines from Chianti to have no white grape varieties added. Tignanello is a milestone in the history of wine. The wine is made from a selection of Sangiovese, Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc grapes.

Description

Intense ruby red colour with violet reflections. On the nose, the 2013 Tignanello presents pleasant notes of vanilla, cocoa and leather, which have been able to develop thanks to the excellent dosage of the cuvée and the well amalgamated wood; very incisive also the spicy and balsamic notes, which lend aromatic complexity. Enveloping on the palate with - within the racy nervous character of the Sangiovese grape - soft tannins. Excellent balance of acidity and tannins and a finish of considerable flavourful length.
