Rioja Gran Reserva DOC 2010

Rioja Gran Reserva DOC 2010

Fernando Remírez de Ganuza had an ambitious goal when he founded the Bodega in 1990: to one day make the best wine in the region. His work as a land agent at the time helped him buy the best and oldest vineyards. His meticulous and sustained approach has paid off. Robert Parker Jr. has already dubbed the Bodega the Spanish equivalent of Château Latour.

A special feature is the selection of the vines. Only the shoulders of the vines are used for the Reserva wines, as these offer more concentration and elegance. For the Trasnocho, a membrane bag filled with water is also used, which presses the grapes particularly gently overnight without the grape seeds bursting open.

Fermentation in small stainless steel tanks and 7000 liter French oak barrels, malolactic fermentation in new barriques. 36 months aging in new French (85%) and American (15%) barrels, minimum 24 months bottle aging after bottling.
