Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru Petite-Chapelle 2018

organic

Only 0.31 hectares are owned by Rossignol-Trapet. Stocked with vines that are over 50 years old, only 1000 to 1500 bottles are pressed per year from this special parcel. The wine is matured 100% in new barrels and is therefore very suitable for a longer bottle ageing. In its youth still on the pithy and tannic side, it develops an uncanny depth and variety of aromas with maturity.

Petite Chapelle is a Premier Cru parcel of exceptional quality, immediately adjacent to the Grand Cru Chapelle-Chambertin. 2016 is fragrant, delicate, feminine, shows some rosehip and sloe on the nose, is balanced on the palate, punchy. A beautiful concentration without heaviness. Straightforwardness, sincerity and grace come to mind as associations. This 1er Cru is simply a pearl from Gevrey-Chambertin!
