On the Tuscan coast, near the small town of Bolgheri, there is a magical vineyard on a hillside overlooking the Tyrrhenian Sea. The wine produced here was never meant to exist. The potential of the unused slope was only realised in the 1980s when, against all odds, advice and local traditions, the first vines were planted. In the following three decades, the vineyard has revealed many secrets, but almost more remain unexplored.

"The typical intense ruby red of Ornellaia 2018 has a lively and distinctive aroma that characterises the entire vintage. The flavour profile of the 2018 Ornellaia is characterised by an interplay of red fruits, citrus notes, aromas of liquorice and Mediterranean scrubland. On the palate, the wine is enveloping and well-proportioned: its tight yet silky tannin fills the palate with elegance and conciseness.
