It is without question one of the best red wines of Tuscany. In terms of character, expression and nuanced richness, this highly elegant wine is simply in a completely different league, where, for example, the top Bordeaux wines compete for the top spots. The only difference is that these are usually priced a little "farther away". In contrast, this extra class among the "Super Tuscans" is downright modest. A fantastic wine with great potential.

When the Swiss Widmer family visited Tuscany for the first time, the impressions of the unique Tuscan landscape struck them with full force and deep into their hearts. And these impressions awakened a great dream: to escape the confines of the Swiss mountains and to produce wines of great calibre in harmony with unspoilt nature. In 1983, the first Chianti Classico was presented to an astonished public. In a large blind tasting of the best Chianti, the Brancaia took first place. Since that year, the wines of the Widmer family have always been at the top of the best lists, so that it is fair to say: The small exclusive Brancaia winery, which is also one of the most modern here, belongs to the absolute top of Tuscany.
