Grüner Veltliner Federspiel Ried Zornberg 2024

The Zornberg is composed of metamorphic rocks, including paragneiss, amphibolite, and Spitzer granodiorite gneiss. The latter, like the Gföhler gneiss, is an orthogneiss, formed through the metamorphism of a granite-like rock. The Zornberg profile is taken from the foot of the slope. Due to gravity and erosion, metre-thick layers of sandy, stony material have accumulated, in which paragneiss, amphibolite, and Spitzer granodiorite gneiss are interwoven.

Description

Nose: The bouquet opens with fresh aromas of green apple, citrus fruits and white peach, complemented by delicate herbal notes and a subtle hint of white pepper.
Tongue: On the palate, it is lively and elegant, with a harmonious balance of fruit, spice and minerality. Well-integrated acidity and a fine texture lead to a long, refreshing finish with a subtle saline touch.
Pairing recommendation:  Goes perfectly with taditional austrian cuisine. Serve at 6 - 8°C.
