Château Gruaud Larose
Like its predecessors, the 2018 vintage is a powerful wine with aromas of cherries, plums and freshly pressed blackcurrants and notes of violets, tea, anise, undergrowth and garrigue. In the mouth, one finds these aromas of fragrant red fruits, in a taut structure with ripe tannins, with plenty of freshness and a long, fragrant finish.

Château Gruaud-Larose is located in the commune of Saint-Julien in the Médoc. Since the 1855 classification, it has been classified as Deuxieme Grand Cru Classé, the second highest level of classification. Gruaud-Larose's location in the open countryside is magnificent. One of the most beautiful gardens in the Médoc surrounds the estate. The estate house itself is one of the almost typical two-storey, multi-winged stately homes. The estate covers an impressive 129 hectares. 55% of the area is planted with Cabernet Sauvignon, 31% with Merlot, 10% with Cabernet Franc, 2% with Malbec and 2% with Petit Verdot. The extremely long-lived red wine is aged for 16 to 18 months in barriques, one third of which are new. It is counted among the so-called "super seconds" because it would actually deserve the first rank (Premier Cru Classé). The second wine is called "Sarget du Gruaud-Larose".
