CHÂTEAU DUCRU-BEAUCAILLOU
For 300 years, six families have forged an unbreakable bond with Château Ducru-Beaucaillou, leaving an enduring mark. Their dedication over decades has captured a harmonious flavor, triumphing over fleeting challenges.
The united team at Château Ducru-Beaucaillou, with diverse backgrounds, shares a common philosophy: pushing the craft's limits. Great wine is born from meticulous care and attention to detail. Elitist viticulture blends with technical expertise, soil reconstitution, traditional Médoc-style pruning, and meticulous green harvesting. These efforts contribute to blend purity, enhanced by slow aging in new French oak barrels for 18 months.
Château Ducru-Beaucaillou is named after "beautiful pebbles" (French: "beaux Cailloux"), deposited by the ancient Garonne River around two million years ago. A vineyard stroll reveals rich lithological finds like Lydian jasper, flint, quartz, agatoids, from the Pyrenees. These Gunzian gravels create nutrient-poor soils, guaranteeing wine quality through their agrological barrenness. The proof is in the glass.
Nose: The aromas dance, flatter the nose, seduce the soul and penetrate the memory. The allure is immediate.
Tongue: A soft, fruity attack on the palate, a voluptuousness underscored by perfectly integrated, silky tannins that culminate in an exceptionally lengthy finish. A muse that arrives on tiptoe and leave a lasting, infinite souvenir.
Pairing recommendation: Great companion to braised meat, entrecôte, rump steak, black truffles and côte de bœuf. Also suitable with lamb gigot, confit de canard and hard cheeses. Serve at 16 - 18°C.
Grape variety: 85% Cabernet Sauvignon / 15% Merlot
Origin: France / Bordeaux
Alcohol content: 14,5% vol.
