"Ornellaia's 2014 was one of the most labour-intensive since we can remember. Nevertheless, we were able to produce very appealing wines of high quality. The late ripening of the grapes has allowed the fruit to fully develop its liveliness and freshness. What is most surprising is the high quality of the tannin on the palate: soft, refined and without edges. This year represents the core of the winery's philosophy, "L'Essenza" of Ornellaia: its natural style, the outstanding quality of its terroir and the skill of those who work in the vineyards and in the cellar."
