The 2020 Clos Vougeot from Domaine Hudelot-Noëllat is a stellar example of both the vintage and this lovely and often, so underrated terroir. The bouquet is deep and precise, offering up a lovely blend of sappy plums and black cherries, spit-roasted venison, a complex base of soil tones, chocolate, woodsmoke and vanillin oak. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied and plush on the attack, with seamless balance, fine focus and grip, a beautiful core of sappy fruit and excellent soil signature defining the long, ripely tannic and vibrant finish.
