This wine is a characterful, dry Blaufränkisch from the Altenberg vineyard in Burgenland, Austria. It is made from 100% classic Blaufränkisch grapes, which develop deep minerality and clear fruitiness on the limestone-rich soils of the Leitha Mountains. In the glass, it displays an intense ruby red colour with violet reflections and unfolds aromas of blackberries, elderberries and dark forest fruits on the nose, accompanied by floral nuances and subtle spicy notes. On the palate, the wine impresses with a balanced structure, silky tannins and a lingering, elegant finish that impressively reflects the origin and class of this site – a full-bodied yet finely structured red wine.
