In 2002, Christina and Thomas Kibler from Frankenmarkt in Upper Austria were faced with the difficult decision of taking over their parents' farm or developing an innovative product out of their love of nature, their connection to the region and their passion for local produce. They had an idea based on the experience that the aromas of freeze-dried fruit are particularly intense. At the University of Munich, they acquired the necessary knowledge to be able to freeze-dry fruits such as strawberries, raspberries, plums, apricots and apples from their own region using a unique process. During freeze-drying, the water is removed from the fruit in the form of ice using the greatest technical effort. This preserves the aromas and colors of the fruit as well as high levels of vitamins, minerals and trace elements. The gentle processing of the fruit together with the use of high-quality chocolate made from fine cocoa beans have made the hand-made fruit pralines and fruit chocolates from Christina and Thomas Kibler from Frankenmarkt in Upper Austria a very special experience since 2004.
