F.X. Pichler
Fine spiciness, but also very crisp freshness on the nose. Green pear, green apple, also some lime peel and rock flour. On the palate it tastes exactly the same. Very fine vein of freshness with ripe stone fruit, bright exoticism and discreet herbal touch. Dense saltiness along with balanced acidity and densely woven fruit structure. High minerality, chalky texture. The freshness is stunning and gives the Veltliner a wonderful definition and juicy drinkability par excellence.

The winery F.X. Pichler is now run by the seventh generation, Lucas Franz Pichler (1973) and his wife Johanna Elisabeth (1982). Lucas Franz is the managing director, winemaker and oenologist, and Johanna Elisabeth looks after sales, marketing and exports.
Franz Xaver (1941) and Rudolfine (1951) Pichler are still involved in the business and are mainly to be found in the vineyards, which they tend with all their dedication and experience.
The family looks back on a long winemaking tradition. In the middle of the 19th century, Franz Pichler II, the great-great-grandfather of Franz Pichler VI, moved from Rohrendorf near Krems to Oberloiben. Around 1898, house no. 27 in Oberloiben was acquired, in whose vaulted cellar the basis for the world success was laid until the 2008 vintage.
