ETTER 1870
With this Retro-Kirsch Etter particularly want to remember their ancestor, Farmer Johann Baptist Etter, who from 1823 onwards distilled his own cherry crop. With skill and passion the master distiller has created this Retro-Kirsch from a variety of well-matured Kirsch vintages. Complex, intensive and aromatic, full of character – a limited edition in numbered bottle.
Not all Kirsch is the same. The 350 different types in Switzerland alone, plus sophisticated distilling processes, make for an impressive diversity of flavours. Etter has been passionate about Kirsch since 1870. The sweet Kirsch cherries come exclusively from the best locations around Lake Zug, in the heart of Switzerland.

Etter, a family with a history dating back to the 13th century in Canton Zug, Switzerland, pays tribute to their ancestor Johann Baptist Etter, who began distilling cherry crops on their family estate, "Bergli" in Menzingen, in 1823. This marked the foundation of their success story, which continued with the establishment of the Etter commercial distillery in Zug by his son Paul and wife Rosa in 1870. Their limited edition Retro-Kirsch is a complex, aromatic Kirsch created by their master distiller from well-matured Kirsch vintages. Etter, now in its fourth generation, continues the tradition of passionate, independent family enterprise in the world of eau-de-vie. Johann Baptist Etter's journey from distilling "cherry water" in 1823 to the present is a testament to their enduring commitment to this craft.
