The La Dame de Montrose 2017 is an intense French red wine crafted from a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, and Petit Verdot. Montrose's history spans two centuries and three ownership families. Nose: very expressive, is slightly woody, dominated by black fruits aromas (blueberry, blackberry and black cherry), interwoven with figs, nuts, wood, and a hint of spice. It also reveals subtle notes of cedar and tobacco leaves.
Tongue: Tension and length in mouth are combined with a good balance. Tannins are precise and silky - a long finish, and mineral nuances. The aromas purity brings finesse and elegance.
Pairing recommendation: It is a perfect accompaniment to veal boiled beef with beans and tomatoes, lamb stew with chickpeas and dried figs or roasted calf's liver with apples, onions and balsamic vinegar sauce. Serve at 15 - 18°C.
