Blason d’Issan, our second wine, was introduced from 1995 onwards to enable selection amongst our vines growing in the Margaux appellation area. Fruit from our youngest vines is used to produce this wine, which respects the identity of its terroir, while offering a tasty round fruitiness, which can be enjoyed earlier. Blason d’Issan is also aged in barrels for 14 to 16 months, one third of which are new. Annual production is around 120,000 bottles.

Château d'Issan winery insights: Nature and Man unite in our winemaking process. After a mild, rainy winter, the vines bloomed under splendid sunshine in late May. Our vineyards, protected by unique soil composition, thrived despite heatwaves. Cool temperatures and intermittent rain during growth led to clear-cut tannins and perfect balance. Harvesting began in September, ensuring disease-free, high-quality fruit. Gentle extraction techniques preserved the aromatic complexity, resulting in the exceptional 2019 vintage. This harmonious blend captures the essence of our historic terroir with sun-ripened aromas and silky tannins.
Grape varieties: Cabernet Sauvignon 40% / Merlot 60%
