Nose: Smoke rises with a cloying sweetness, featuring intense, pungent, and aromatic characteristics, reminiscent of creosote or tarry rope, accompanied by a crunchy aroma.
Tongue: Untamed darker flavors and notes have risen, bringing a burst of bittersweetness, disturbing ashy coal dust, and casting a haze of cardamom, peppermint, and coffee grits.
Finish: The aftertaste lingers long and bold, leaving an almost anaesthetizing sensation, as clouds of dark chocolate and mentholic eucalyptus roll in, obscuring the fruit and floral notes usually found at the heart of Ardbeg.
