Pittnauer St. Laurent Dorflagen - the red wine variety native to Austria places high demands on the winemaker. Unter Dorflagen is a cool site located north of Gols on the Parndorfer Platte. Iron-rich gravel soils combined with good aeration offer very good conditions for this wine!
Gerhard Pittnauer has the Burgundy and St. Laurent varieties simply under control. With his St. Laurent Reserve he has been a household name for years, and since 2004 he has also been making a classic St. Laurent. This combines all the positive characteristics that one would want from an "Austrian Burgundy". The designation "Dorflagen" is reminiscent of the designation "Village" in France. Matured in used barriques.

Pittnauer Winery
The winery is located in the municipality of Gols in the Burgenland wine-growing region of Neusiedlersee (Austria). At the beginning of the 1990s, the winery was taken over by Gerhard and Brigitte Pittnauer. The vineyards cover 18 hectares in the Altenberg, Fuchsenfeld, Haidboden and Rosenberg vineyards. The red wine varieties St. Laurent, Zweigelt, Blaufränkisch and Cabernet Sauvignon are cultivated to 95%, as well as the white wine varieties Grüner Veltliner, Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc and Welschriesling. Gerhard Pittnauer is regarded as the Austrian specialist for St. Laurent, his lead grape variety.
