On the Tuscan coast, near the small town of Bolgheri, there is a magical vineyard on a hillside overlooking the Tyrrhenian Sea. The wine produced here was never meant to exist. The potential of the unused slope was only realised in the 1980s when, against all odds, advice and local traditions, the first vines were planted. In the following three decades, the vineyard has revealed many secrets, but almost more remain unexplored.

Description

The fruit of an extremely late harvest, this Masseto shows great aromatic maturity, with fruit and spice combining the typical balsamic and menthol accents.
Generous, lush and full-bodied on the palate. The once powerful tannins have softened, leaving a sense of great liveliness and freshness that balances its lushness and richness. This wine is a real pleasure now, but can certainly improve with bottle age.
