On the Tuscan coast, near the small town of Bolgheri, there is a magical vineyard on a hillside overlooking the Tyrrhenian Sea. The wine produced here was never meant to exist. The potential of the unused slope was only realised in the 1980s when, against all odds, advice and local traditions, the first vines were planted. In the following three decades, the vineyard has revealed many secrets, but almost more remain unexplored.

In a vintage that literally pushed the Merlot to its limits, the blue loam stored just enough
the blue clay stored just enough freshness and moisture to produce a textbook Masseto.
