Clos d’Ambonnay 2002

Clos d’Ambonnay 2002

Clos d'Ambonnay celebrates Pinot Noir, the grape variety that defines Maison Krug. Originating from a small 0.68-hectare vineyard in the village of Ambonnay, it is the epitome of generous flavours and diverse aromas. The winemakers declared it vintage - only one-fifth of the vineyard's parcels - because it is emblematic of the terroir's individual character. This prestigious champagne refines its taste over time.

This Blanc de Noirs Champagne is made from 100% Pinot Noir grapes sourced from the small walled estate of Clos d'Ambonnay in one of Champagne's most famous villages. Consistently mild and mostly dry weather in 2002 helped the grapes reach full ripeness, while after 14 years in the jug cellars, an exceptional finesse is revealed. Only 4,743 bottles of this rare champagne were released.
