The Hochberg vineyard is characterised by its south, south-west facing slope. The topsoil in this vineyard is characterised by sandy to heavy loam, while the subsoil is made up of calcareous sandstone. The wine matures in 500 litre wooden barrels.

In the colour a deep dark ruby garnet with violet reflections. In the nose tobacco spicy underlaid intense dark berry fruit, ripe heart cherry, a hint of cardamom and nougat. On the palate complex, very juicy, extract-sweet core with fine supporting tannins. Possesses great length, good freshness, salty nuances and some chocolate on the finish.
Recommended food: Dark meat, steak, game dishes.
