Chianti Classico Riserva DOCG 2017

Chianti Classico Riserva Berardenga, like its little brother, was first produced in the 1967 vintage, the grapes come from plots in the southern part of Chianti Classico, east of Siena. The vines stand at an altitude of 320 to 420 meters above sea level. Soil conditions are heterogeneous, with limestone with quartz mixed with pebbles predominating at the upper elevations. Further downhill, clay and stratified sandstone dominate.

Only healthy and optimally ripened grape material was processed. Completely destemmed, the must fermented for about 16 days in stainless steel tanks, during which the marc cap was regularly submerged.
The young wine was then aged in Slovenian oak half barrels and French oak barriques (1/3 new, one and two years old). After up to 16 months of aging the wine filled.
