Château Calon-Ségur is one of Bordeaux's famous wine estates. Since the 1855 classification, the estate has been classified as Troisième Grand Cru Classé, the third highest level of classification. Madame Capbern-Gasqueton is the owner of this absolutely noble estate, which many château owners in the Bordelais would like to call their own. One important reason for this is the excellent, very stony soils of the cru located at the northernmost point of the Medoc.
The estate was made famous as early as the 18th century by its then owner, the famous Marquis de Segur, who was also the owner of Château Lafite and Château Latour: "I grow my wine at Lafite and Latour. But my heart is in Calon." To this day, the label of Calon-Ségur shows a heart.
