Bela Rex 2017 Magnum

organic

"Bela Rex" is a classic blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, subtly enriched with the spices of the Mittelburgenland region, showcasing an elegant style. The name traces back to the reign of Hungarian King Bela IV in 1245 when Deutschkreutz was first documented in connection with wine.

The grapes were meticulously hand-harvested. The harvest for the Merlot blend commenced at the end of September, followed by Cabernet Sauvignon in early October. Each grape variety underwent separate vinification. Spontaneous maceration occurred in stainless steel tanks with the cap submerged 2 - 4 times daily. Biological malolactic fermentation took place in oak barrels. The wines matured for 25 months in small oak barrels, and after blending, the wine continued to mature for 6 months in large wooden casks.
