Chateau Batailley

Chateau Batailley 2018

Dense purple garnet, rich in the middle. Seductive bouquet with violets and ripe blackberries, behind blueberries and nougat pralines. On the juicy palate with creamy texture and brilliantly supportive breed, supportive cocoa-like tannin and ripe extract. In the bundled finish black berries, the wine is slender like an arrow and we longer and longer, a full load of cassis and wonderful spice in the back aroma.

Description

Château Batailley is a Cinquième Cru estate according to the 1855 classification of Médoc châteaux and the flagship of the Casteja family and the Borie-Manoux trading house. The name of the estate supposedly comes from a battle (French: bataille) that took place some 600 years ago between the French and the English on the land where the estate is now located. The Château is located south of Pauillac, on the road to St. Laurent.
The 55ha of vines (70% Cabernet Sauvignon, 25% Merlot, 3% Cabernet Franc and 2% Petit Verdot) grow in a deep gravel bed with a subsoil of clay and limestone. The wine is aged partly in oak, partly in steel and partly in cement tanks and is then matured for 18 months in oak barriques (50% of which are new).
