The Week Of Peat Single Malt Scotch Whisky 14Y

The Balvenie Distillery

The Week Of Peat Single Malt Scotch Whisky 14Y

Week of Peat is the second story in The Balvenie Stories series. It is about Ian Miller, the distillery manager of the distillery. A trip to the island of Islay inspired him to experiment with his newly acquired knowledge. He ordered a batch of Speyside peat and created the Week Of Peat. One week of the year when The Balvenie exceptionally produces peated whiskies. The result is a fourteen-year-old whisky with rich notes of honey, vanilla and citrus surrounded by gentle smoke.

Description

The Balvenie was built in Scotland in 1892 by William J. Grant and, with its sister distillery Glenfiddich, is still independent and family-owned by the founders. The distillery has changed almost nothing since it was founded. The single malts are still produced in the traditional way today, which gives them their unique taste. Each whisky has its own personality, but all are rich, pleasantly smooth and have the characteristic sweetness of honey.

Nose: multi-faceted notes of subtle peat smoke, honey, vanilla and citrus notes.

Palate: balanced and velvety with flavours of citrus, vanilla, honey and peat smoke.

Finish: long lasting with smoky influences of peat and creamy vanilla.
