Château La Garde
The typical fine, juicy and slightly smoky fruit of a Pessac-Léognan combines here with power and complexity. Intense dark fruit on the nose, with hints of blackcurrants, mulberries and black cherries. In addition, toasty aromas, cedar wood, but also floral accents in the background. Very present on the palate, the intense dark fruit continues, accompanied by spice and definitely also freshness. The tannin is strong, but very finely honed. Very long finish! A wine that has something unbelievably gripping and will more than reward all those who bring along a little patience.

Chateau La Garde
La Garde has just under 45 hectares of vines in Martillac, 65% of which are planted with Cabernet Sauvignon and 35% with Merlot. Since the château became the property of the Dourthe trading house in 1990, it has been producing good wines with an excellent price-quality ratio. The vinification is carried out with all due care: the harvest is of course done by hand and in several passes in order to harvest only optimally ripe grapes, the vinification takes place in temperature-controlled tanks and the malolactic fermentation partly in tank and partly in barrel. The wine is then aged for 15 to 20 months in 65% new oak barrels.
Grape varieties: Merlot/Cabernet Sauvignon/Cabernet Franc/Petit Verdot
Goes well with: Braised pork, dark sauce
Origin: France / Bordeaux
Alcohol content: 14.5 % vol.
