Chateauneuf-du-Pape Vieilles Vignes 1989

Domaine de la Janasse is a famous vineyard from the Rhone Valley with about 50 hectares of vineyards, mainly belonging to the Chateauneuf-du-Pape and Côtes du Rhone appellations. The winemaker Aimé Sabon loves his vines, he owns vines up to 100 years old and the family winery works with great care in the vineyard to get the best ripeness and concentration out of the grapes and so that the terroir is expressed in the wine. The estate produces quality wines and is undoubtedly one of the notable references of the Rhone.

Popis

The Vieilles Vignes is the very special Châteauneuf cuvée from Domaine de la Janasse. Very old Grenache, Syrah and Mourvedre vines result in an extremely dense yet elegant wine, which year after year is one of the best to be found in the Châteauneuf region. Then its very fine tannins will release one of the best Chateauneufs of the vintage, which delicately spans the great arc between fullness and mineral polish like hardly any other.
