Dog Point is one of the best wineries in New Zealand. The winery reliably produces excellent quality wine year after year.
The owners and founders have learned their trade. Ivan Sutherland and James Healy have already helped Cloudy Bay become what it is today: one of the most famous wine brands in the world. James Healy was the oenologist there for 12 years. Ivan Sutherland looked after Cloudy Bay's vineyards for 18 years.
After Cloudy Bay became the property of Louis Vuitton-Moet-Hennessy, the two founded their own winery, Dog Point. Dog Point has one of the oldest private vineyards in Marlborough. Some of the vines date back to the 1970s. They started with the grapes from the 80 ha Dog Point vineyard in 2002. The first wines followed in 2004. To date, there are only four wines: a Sauvignon Blanc, a barrel-aged Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay and Pinot Noir.
