Popis

The song of a grand cru
Situated at the foot of the south/south-western slope of Saint-Emilion, Château Daugay plunges as far as the eye can see into this prestigious vineyard. Like a benevolent sentinel protecting the village, the 5.5 hectare property takes its name from the jay bird. The name of Daugay, which is over 500 years old, is due to the presence of the oak jay, called "Daou gay" in the local dialect, on the hills and slopes that bear this name. This bird with its multicoloured plumage is a guardian of the forest and watches over its people with its unmistakable song. Like his totem animal, Daugay is on the lookout and watches the horizon until the next village... Like the jay, he has a wide vocal register with "notes" of merlot, cabernet franc and cabernet sauvignon. Like the jay, he "sings" the wine by perpetuating age-old gestures that are passed on from generation to generation. And like its emblematic bird, it is now spreading its wings towards its future, marked by modernity and innovation.
